To kickoff its Fall 2026 season, Either/Or travels to Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT. EO will reprise its Fall 2025 performance of artist Stephen Prina's String Quartet for 6 Players (1976) during the Ezra and Cecile Zilkha Gallery’s exhibit Mozart's Chair. Prina’s work is a Fluxus-era deconstruction of Mozart's String Quartet No. 15 in D min K.421/417b. With doubled violins, the group plays the opening exposition as written, after which a single die is thrown periodically, sending the player whose number is rolled back to the beginning. The result is a fascinating aural landscape of Mozartian lines woven together in continually unexpected ways.
