E/O Spring Festival 1 - Theatrical Solos and Duos

  • Whitebox Art Center 329 Broome Street New York, NY 10002 (map)

Either/Or perform their ninth annual spring festival of contemporary and experimental music!

Kicking it off on June 26 - E/O soloists Margaret Lancaster, Vasko Dukovski, Aaron Baird and co-director David Shively perform a theatrical melange of works by iconic composers Karlheinz Stockhausen, Mauricio Kagel, Jacob Druckman, Alvin Lucier, and others at the Whitebox Art Center.

From Stockhausen's flute solo performed in full body cat suit(!) to Kagel and Druckman's theatrical adventures and Lucier's pure sound exploration of two slowly detuning electric guitars, this is a concert not to be missed.

Program:
Mauricio Kagel - Rigaudon (1982)
Toshio Hosokawa - Atem-Lied (1997)
Jacob Druckman - Valentine (1969)
Alvin Lucier - Criss-Cross (2013)
