Either/OR team up with distinguished Korean Gugak musicians Gamin (Piri, Saenghwang, Important Intangible Cultural Asset No. 46) and DoYeon Kim (Gayageum) to explore different and progressive interactions between these New York and Korean musicians. Featuring open score works by Gamin, DoYeon Kim, Cornelius Cardew, and Richard Carrick and notated music by Yoon-Ji Lee, alongside traditional musics and improvisational scenarios.

Either/Or presents Interactions, a program of works that focus on essentialized forms of communication. Compositions include graphic scores by Merche Blasco (Bardenas) and Zeena Parkins (Lace Pieces), Gérard Grisey’s ecstatic Solo pour Deux for bass clarinet and trombone (Vasko Dukovsky and Chris McIntyre respectively), and the US Premiere of Johan Svensson’s Marionette for cello (John Popham) and electro-mechanical devices.
